Position Overview
The Program Coordinator plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing programs that align with GPLXC’s mission. This position ensures programs run smoothly, meet community needs, and contribute to GPLXC’s broader impact. The Program Coordinator supports both the Multicultural Center and Wellness Center, Bienestar, helping to create meaningful, community-centered programming.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for youth engagement and a deep understanding of the unique needs of the Latinx community.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Execution
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of GPLXC programs.
Ensure all logistical elements (e.g., scheduling, venues, materials) are in place.
Provide support and resources to community members.
Track and monitor participation and engagement through surveys, attendance records, and other systems, making recommendations for improvement.
Community Engagement & Outreach
Build and maintain relationships with community members, partner organizations, and stakeholders.
Conduct outreach efforts to promote programs and increase participation.
Gather feedback to improve program effectiveness.
Administrative & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and impact metrics.
Assist in preparing reports for funders and internal stakeholders.
Manage program budgets, ensuring responsible use of resources.
Volunteer & Staff Coordination
Recruit, train, and support volunteers involved in GPLXC programming.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure alignment across initiatives.
Support a culture of collaboration within GPLXC and among community partners.
Other Duties as Assigned
Adapt programs based on community feedback and emerging needs.
Participate in GPLXC-wide initiatives and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.
Success Metrics
A successful Program Coordinator at GPLXC will:

Qualifications & Experience
Experience in community organizing, nonprofit program management, or a related field.
Familiarity with GPLXC’s mission and Latinx community issues.
Strong administrative and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Spanish/English (Bilingual required).
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
Ability to pass a background check.
Strong understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of the Queer & Latinx community, particularly youth in Gage Park and Chicago’s Southwest side.
Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with youth development frameworks and best practices.
Commitment to social justice and LGBTQ+ rights.
Work Environment
In-person and community-based activities.
32 hours per week, Tuesday - Friday 10:00-6:00 pm, Saturday 11:00-3:00 pm
$20 per hour
Occasional evening or weekend hours based on program needs.

This position supports both GPLXC’s Multicultural Center and Wellness Center, Bienestar, ensuring that internal processes run efficiently while creating a welcoming environment for visitors. The Office Coordinator will manage day-to-day office functions, provide front-line support to community members, and assist in the coordination of meetings, events, and volunteer activities.
This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with people and thrives in a community-centered, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Office Administration & Coordination
Oversee daily office operations, including scheduling, correspondence, and document organization.
Maintain accurate records and filing systems for organizational reports, community events, and program activities.
Handle incoming inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits, ensuring timely and professional responses.
Maintain office supplies and ensure the workspace remains functional and organized.
Front-Facing Community Support
Serve as the first point of contact for community members, providing information and guidance on GPLXC programs and resources.
Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported.
Assist community members with applications, forms, and navigating resources as needed.
Ensure clear signage, informational materials, and accessibility accommodations are available.
Event & Meeting Coordination Support
Assist in scheduling and coordinating internal meetings, workshops, and community events.
Manage event logistics, including venue setup, materials preparation, and participant registration.
Provide administrative support to program staff to facilitate smooth event execution.
Volunteer & Staff Support
Coordinate volunteer schedules, ensuring proper staffing for front desk and operational support.
Provide administrative assistance to leadership and program teams to enhance organizational efficiency.
Help onboard new volunteers and staff with office procedures and protocols.
Other Duties as Assigned
Adapt to the evolving needs of GPLXC and contribute to the organization’s mission-driven initiatives.
